Majestic Red Fir
The Red fir is a western North American fir, native to the mountains of southwest Oregon and California in the United States. It is a high elevation tree, typically occurring at 4,600–8,900 foot elevation. It is an evergreen tree growing to 196 feet at a medium rate. The name Red fir derives from the bark color of old trees. The oldest tree recorded, in the Klamath Mountains of California, had a crossdated age of 665 years.
